Evelyn Partners, the wealth manager entrusted with £62 billion of its clients’ assets, is pleased to announce the launch of the Evelyn Partners Padel Cup that will see professionals from top city firms clash in a competitive corporate padel and networking tournament in the heart of London’s financial centre.

As founding title partner of this exclusive tournament, Evelyn Partners will host 16 mixed teams from some of the City of London’s most elite organisations. From the Big Four accounting firms to Magic Circle law firms, major banks and city innovators, the ‘who’s who’ of the Square Mile will compete in this high-octane tournament – an event brought to life through a three-year partnership with TTB Sport, which provides investment and advisory services for the sports industry.

The invitation-only tournament on October 16 will be held at Padium, a state-of-the-art padel club in the heart of Canary Wharf, which offers nine premium indoor and outdoor courts. Players will battle it out on court to become Cup winners before retreating to the venue’s hospitality and social spaces to unwind and network alongside celebrities and brand ambassadors.

Padel is the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK and across the world, attracting amateurs and professionals alike as it is accessible for all ages and abilities due to its smaller court size, simple rules and focus on strategy.

Demand for the sport is ramping up in the UK, particularly among professionals, yet facilities are scarce. This is where the Padel Cup will plug that gap, providing an exclusive experience for city executives that not only caters to their desire to participate in a new, fun-but-competitive activity but also their enthusiasm for unconventional networking opportunities that marry building connections with dynamic, sporting activities.

The Padel Cup aligns with the wealth manger’s wider mission to always embrace the latest innovations in the world of sport as it strives to consider the driving forces and key themes in this ever-evolving world. In addition, to being a lively, competitive day of padel, networking and hospitality, any funds raised through the event will support Laureus Sport for Good. Founded under the patronage of Nelson Mandela, the charitable organisation harnesses the power of sport to help children and young people in disadvantaged communities across the globe overcome violence, discrimination and disadvantage.

The Evelyn Partners Padel Cup is yet another mark of Evelyn Partners’ ongoing commitment to the sport of padel. Earlier this month, the wealth manager extended its partnership with The Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic, which was held at London’s prestigious Hurlingham Club on May 14-15. Separately, in March, Evelyn Partners launched a new tie-up with Empower Padel, a global community for female padel players that encourages women to harness the power of team sport, in March.
